Joseph F. Coates

  Joe Coates is president of Coates & Jarratt, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm devoted to studies of the future which he founded in 1979. He is also a popular lecturer and writer on futurist topics.  Prior to founding Coates & Jarratt, he was a senior staff member at the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment and a program officer at the National Science Foundation, as well as an industrial chemist.  He is the author of more than 300 publications and has taught graduate courses on the future at George Washington University.
